homesong is a collection of stories about one family’s effort to try to find home, to imagine what it could mean to be claimed by a place. When we do find home, we long to imagine how we can keep that Gift moving through the world, how we can ensure it does not stop with us. We are a white, middle class family trying to imagine how we can be of service to land, water, plants, and animals – to aspire to give as much as we receive by having a steady and secure place in the world. We attempt to practice land-based spirituality without appropriation, and recognize that we are uninvited guests on the lands of the Wabanaki people.
